Closed Wheel Nut, 60° Taper, 21mm Hex, 34mm Height (Galvanised)

A closed-end wheel nut featuring a 60° conical seat, an oversized 21mm hex, 34mm overall height, and a galvanised zinc finish for long-term corrosion protection.

The 21mm hex provides increased tool engagement and is commonly specified on heavier platforms, including commercial vehicles, light vans, and larger-wheeled passenger vehicles. Available in black or silver. Source

The closed-end dome design covers the wheel stud tip fully, protecting it from road salt, moisture, and debris, particularly relevant for UK road and winter conditions. The galvanised coating provides robust rust protection for vehicles exposed to salted roads and outdoor storage.

What Makes 21mm Hex Different

Most passenger car wheel nuts use a 17mm or 19mm hex. A 21mm hex provides increased tool engagement surface and is typically specified on heavier commercial vehicles, light vans, or larger-wheeled platforms.

If your vehicle or wheel specifies 21mm tooling, substituting a smaller hex can result in inadequate tool grip or rounding of the nut under torque. Always match the hex size to your vehicle's specified wheel tool.

Common Applications

  • Commonly used on vehicles and platforms requiring a 60° conical seat nut with 21mm hex, including:
  • Selected commercial vehicles and light vans using M14 × 1.5 or M12 threads with 21mm socket specification
  • Aftermarket wheels with 60° taper bolt holes require a wider nut body
  • Replacement fitments where galvanised protection is a priority
