Tuner Wheel Nut with 60° Taper, Star D23 Drive, 37mm (Galvanised)

A tuner-style wheel nut with a 60° conical seat, Star D23 internal drive, 37mm overall height, and galvanised finish. The Star D23 drive is an internal star-shaped recess that requires a matching key socket for installation and removal.

This design suits aftermarket wheels with narrow or recessed nut pockets where a standard external hex head either will not fit or protrudes undesirably. Available in silver only. Source

The galvanised zinc finish provides durable corrosion protection suited to year-round UK driving conditions.

What Star D23 Drive Means

The "Star" designation refers to an internal star-pattern recess machined into the top of the nut. Unlike a conventional external hex, the Star drive requires a dedicated matching key socket; this is the defining feature of the "tuner nut" style. It creates a cleaner, lower-profile appearance on the wheel face and is designed for aftermarket wheels with deep or narrow nut recesses.

D23 refers to the outer body diameter of 23mm, making it physically larger than the D20 variant (20mm body). The D23 suits wheel designs with slightly wider nut pockets. Selecting the wrong body diameter can result in the nut not seating fully into the recess or sitting proud of the wheel surface.

*Always confirm the nut pocket diameter of your wheel before selecting D20 or D23.

Common Applications

Commonly used on aftermarket alloy wheels designed for tuner-style internal drive nuts, including wheels with recessed nut pockets:

  • Aftermarket wheels with D23-compatible nut recesses and 60° taper bolt holes
  • Vehicles using M12 or M14 thread pitches requiring an internal-drive nut format
  • Fitments where a galvanised finish is preferred for corrosion resistance over chrome
